David has been drawing, painting and shooting photographs since his early teens where he began experimenting with 35mm black and white film and eventually set up his own darkroom where he spent hours producing silver halite prints. Recently he has transitioned to digital photography using Nikon equipment and now produces all of his images as giclée prints utilizing sophisticated Epson digital printmaking systems.
He has used his artistic skills throughout his career for both fine art and commercial applications. He often integrates works of sculpture into his compositions. The interplay between man-made works of art and the natural world creates a surreal and often thought provoking image. Ultimately he gets his inspiration from the people, scenic landscapes and majestic structures from the many fascinating places he has visited around the world.
David Clark graduated in 1975 with a degree in Commercial Art and Illustration and began his career working as an art director within the offset printing and corporate industries. He established DRC Advertising, an advertising design firm in 1980, which has serviced clients such as Branson Ultrasonics, Ciba-Geigy, First Brands, Boehringer-Ingelheim, Union Carbide, G.E. Capital, and Chase Manhattan Bank. He then formed DRC Publishing in 2000 that specialized in fine art printmaking and fine art publishing services. In 2008 his company joined forces with another local firm to form Visual Impact, LLC where he is currently Vice President and Creative Director.
