Advances in digital imaging gave birth to the giclée print in the late 1980’s and we started offering the service to our fine art clients in the early 90’s. Since then it has become one of the most popular forms of fine art reproduction and these prints have been purchased by many collectors, museums and galleries around the world.
The giclée printing process enables printmakers to reproduce fine art in limited editions with an accuracy and cost effectiveness unattainable in the past. In fact, when produced by a professional printmaker, giclées can so closely match an original painting that it may be difficult to tell that you are looking at a reproduction.
Photographer’s silver halide originals can be digitized via our Scitex or drum scanner while flat art originals can be captured with our BetterLight scanning back. The files can then be printed directly onto archival fine art papers or canvas. We utilize fade resistant inks in our high resolution, wide color gamut printers. The paper and canvas reproductions we offer are rated with a longevity of over 70 years before any noticeable fading may occur.
Working closely with our printmakers, the artist’s input and ultimate approval is an integral part of the process, assuring the highest fidelity print possible. Visual Impact also offers a free Certificate of Authenticity for each of your giclée prints as well as various finishing services such as protective coating, canvas stretching, shrink wrapping and custom framing. By continually reinvesting in the latest technologies, we offer you the highest quality reproductions at affordable prices.
